ABOUT RUDY & PHYLLIS
When Rudy and Phyllis Serafini came to Chambersburg from Bradford, PA more than forty years ago, they knew no one. There were few outsiders and even fewer Italians in the community. As the Serafini family grew, strangers became friends and friends became like family. It didn’t take much convincing from friends for dad to become a coach and mom to become the number one cheerleader. As far back as can be remembered, Rudy and Phyllis contributed to the community through organizations such as Little League, American Legion, Corpus Christi School and Church, Chapparells, the CASHS Band, CASHS baseball, softball, and basketball teams, Straight Love, Nellie Fox Bowling, Planning and Zoning, Chambersburg Park and Recreation, The Nellie Fox Association, Franklin County Drug and Alcohol and so many more. Rudy and Phyllis thought nothing of giving their time and energy to an organization or cause that improved the quality of life for their children and the community. They consistently exhibited strong character and were wonderful role models for their children, their friends, and for some that we will never know. They were humble about their contributions and experienced gratification as they watched young people succeed.
